Domestic Plastering

A homeowner contacted us and required domestic plastering in Selkirk for their home which had recently undergone substantial renovations.

We installed completely new plasterboard on top of the new 2″x4″ timber framed walls, taped and then plastered.

Our plasterer attended over several days and provided a superb high quality finish to all walls and ceilings. As is standard on all projects, the plasterer cleaned periodically and left the house looking better than when he arrived.

This particular project was small but presented several challenges for the plasterer, having to dress-in solid oak beams, Velux windows and slate sills.

Where it is required our team of plasterers can replace plasterboard. If plasterboard is existing and in a re-usable condition (with not too many big holes) then we can repair and patch up. To get the best finish with plastered walls and prevent cracks, the wall and property must be sturdy. When the walls have a bit of flex this can lead to cracks developing in the plaster.

On this project we also provided a roughcast around an open fire to give a rough traditional finish. To achieve the mottled effect, the plasterer damped off the mortar mix and padded down with a worn sponge.

Our customer was very happy with the finished product and has provided a testimonial. Please get in touch if you require domestic plastering services.
